Well-being and Mental Health Support

“Mental health is defined as a state of well being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.”

Over the course of their education, children spend over 7,800 hours at school.

With such a huge amount of time spent in the classroom, our school provides an ideal environment for promoting good emotional well being.  We promote this through many ways including P4C (Philosophy for Children) sessions and work based around our values.

Mental Well being in Covid-19 closures

Feeling concerned or overwhelmed by the news is understandable. It might be that you’re anxious about your own health, the health of someone in your family, or what impact the virus will have on your life. Here are some steps you can take if you are feeling anxious:

  • Talk to someone trusted
  • Arm yourself with the facts (see the NHS website)
  • Limit the amount of news you are exposed to
  • Plan your time
  • Find things that help you feel calm
